Canada Day in Port Credit

Canada Day was a lot quieter this year as communities across the country attempted to limit the spread of the coronavirus. The pandemic forced the cancellation of Port Credit’s ‘Paint the Town Red’ Canada Day celebrations, including the parade and the very popular fireworks, which bring in thousands of spectators each year.

Despite the unusual emptiness along the Lakeshore, Neighbourhood magazine photographer Peeter Poldre was able to find displays of Canadian pride in the form of red and white and the maple leaf throughout the community.

Though we may be apart, our nation continues to work together in order to
bring back what we have lost.
