2020 Canadian Tire National Skating Championship Finals

Three new champions were crowned at the 2020 Canadian Tire National Skating Championship finals that took place at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga on January 18th.

The competition featured Piper Gilles and Paul winning the ice dance competition, Roman Sadovky upsetting two veterans for the win and a trio of newcomers on the podium for the women’s singles event, won by 17-year-old Emily Bausback.

Only Kirsten Moore-Towers and Michael Marinaro were able to successfully defend their national title-winning pairs.

“Getting a Canadian title is something we’ve really worked hard to get,” said Gillies. “It hasn’t come easily. But everything is about timing in life and we’ve finally found what works for us.” – Skate Canada
