21st Annual Tim Horton’s South Side Shuffle

There was plenty of music, dancing and celebrating during this year’s 21th Annual Tim Horton’s Southside Shuffle event that occurred in Port Credit Memorial Park from Friday, Sept 6 through Sunday, Sept 8.  It all started 21 years ago by founder and artistic director Chuck Jackson’s vision to bring the blues to Port Credit. This festival now draws over 75,000 people worldwide and the Mississauga Arts Council has awarded it as “Mississauga’s Best Festival” with the MARTY award.

Four stages featuring the best blues bands.  On Friday, the Southern Rock All-Star Revue featured The Cooper Brothers with special guests Sass Jordan & Tony D.  On Saturday, a Woodstock theme had bands bringing us back in time with Matt Weidinger’s tribute to The Who.  On Sunday, The Legendary Downchild  Blues Band celebrated their 50th Anniversary tour with special guests Jenie Thai and Tony D.  Rabba Fine Foods Street Shuffle opened with a memorable street parade and featured bands and acts performing at various locations up and down Lakeshore Road East. So much talent and so much fun made this event a huge success. Thank you to all the volunteers, organizers, sponsors and performers that helped make this 21th anniversary a special one.
