Applefest at Ireland House

Museums of Burlington presented Applefest on September 22nd, an old fashioned country fair in the heart of the city, on the grounds of the Ireland House Museum.

It was a hot sunny day for an autumn fair. Thousands of visitors enjoyed pony rides, face painting, petting baby chinchillas, feeding farm animals and so much more. There was an animal mask craft, silent auction, an artisan market and lots and lots of free, crispy apples. For a more substantial lunch, there were a couple of food trucks on site. Of course, the Ireland House Museum remained open for visitors to explore the house, adding some history to the autumn festivities.
