Lest We Forget……
On November 11th, thousands gathered in downtown Burlington to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who fought, many giving their lives, for the freedoms we have today.
The first big snow of the season fell during the early morning Remembrance Service in Spencer Smith Park and continued throughout the day. Brant Street was blocked off at Baldwin for a short parade of veterans, police, cadets and the Teen Tour Band. An hour-long ceremony, including the laying of wreaths, took place at the Cenotaph just outside City Hall. It was a day to show our appreciation for all those who have stood on guard for us throughout history, preserving our precious freedom.
