Burlington Vintage Car Show

Brant street was blocked off on July 6th to host an impressive exhibit of cars. From Classics, exotics, hot rods, to muscle cars, Brant Street merchants saw lots of activity. Some held sidewalk sales, specials and kids’ activities for the large crowd of car enthusiasts in support of the local Lions Club.

Car owners were friendly and took delight in talking about their vehicles. There was a beautiful blue replica of the 1965 Shelby AC Cobra Racer, owned by Burlington’s Craig Cooper. There was a replica of Steve McQueen’s Mustang from the movie “Bullitt,” built by Mike Roberts of Oakville. The car has a refurbished AM radio and a Jack for an MP3 player with original speakers still in the doors, giving the sound of 1968 radio.

Not all of the vehicles were vintage. William was proud of his 2007 Saturn Sky, a lightweight car with lifting doors, 325 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. About 150 cars lined Brant Street.
