Crowds flocked to Ireland House Museum’s annual Christmas event on November 17th. Parents and children lined up to meet with Santa and tell him of their Christmas wishes.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus had brought along one of their young reindeer from the North Pole. A horse-drawn wagon from Lionel’s Farm was kept busy giving rides all afternoon. Children roasted marshmallows at the open fire while listening to Carollers from M&J Music Studio. Indoors, holiday tours of the decorated museum were conducted. Downstairs in the Rumford hearth, staff members Miriam and Sarah baked maple sugar cookies for guests to sample, and Hot chocolate was served on the way out.
Many admired the vintage 1953 fire truck on site, and shoppers were able to pick out gifts at the stocking stuffer mini market. It was an engaging afternoon, endowing Visitors with the Yuletide spirit.
