It was a perfect summer day for the downtown Jazz Fest, held outside at the Burlington Performing Arts Plaza, August 10 and 11. Spectators loved the free concert, cooling off with a beverage from the beer tent on the terrace, or enjoying nibblies from Wendel Clark’s barbequed morsels for sale.
Starting the show was Burlington’s two-time JUNO nominee, baritone saxophonist Shirantha Beddage and Quartet. His music combines hard bop and modern jazz for a sophisticated, unique sound.
Other headliners included Thomas Carbou, Christine Tassan et les Imposteures, Steven Taetz, Jodi Proznick, and Heather Bambrick.
Local musicians Tim Park and Karen Thornton entertained the crowd between scheduled performances.
Free concerts are just one of the perks of living in the awesome City of Burlington!
