Jo Brant Day

Celebrated in Lasalle Park, August 5th was Joseph Brant Day as proclaimed by the city of Burlington. Jo Brant, the famous Mohawk Chief, was one of Burlington’s original settlers during the early 1800s.

Visitors to the park enjoyed live performances; The Eagle Flight Singers and Dancers, Chinese Performing Arts Society, and Caribbean Steel Drummer, to name a few. There were numerous children’s activities including trampolines, the steam zone, water relay races, and so much more. There was a large market of local vendors and a food truck rally. Perogies from the ‘Stuffed’ food truck were a tasty popular choice. Many guests ventured into the wading pool, finding relief from the blistering heat.
