Q: WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A DENTIST?
At a young age I knew I wanted to work in the health care field. My 8-year-old self would have simply said “I want to help people.” In my teen years, I really enjoyed going to the dentist. I liked the aspect of educating patients about oral health care and managing patients when they were in pain. So, I decided I wanted to pursue a career in dentistry.

At Magnolia Dental, we treat all of our patients like family and we also offer services for the entire family. We encourage parents to start bringing their little ones around their first birthday and start the child off on the right path to optimal oral health. We also like to share tips with parents on how to encourage toddlers to brush their teeth. Whether you are younger, older or somewhere in between, you will receive a personalized treatment plan for your specific dental needs.

I am an honest, caring and genuine person. This is me. The same person at home and in the office. I am a wife, daughter, sister, friend and mother. All those roles have taught me so much about how to relate to people. Since I am a mother to 3 kids, I have an ease and comfort while treating children.
Q: WHAT ARE THE KEYS TO BEING A SUCCESSFUL DENTAL PRACTICE IN THE WATERDOWN COMMUNITY?
I love Waterdown, it is a wonderful community. It definitely is a growing city, but I feel it has been able retain a smalltown feel. The key to being successful in Waterdown is to just be real, communicate honestly, value the patient’s time and focus on delivering the best possible dental treatment and care.

I thoroughly enjoy speaking to people and I love to learn about my patient’s life stories. It’s actually my favourite part of being a dentist, forming these relationships that can last for decades.
Q: WHERE DO YOU HOPE TO SEE MAGNOLIA DENTAL IN 5 YEARS?
I have actually walked down the hallway of my office and envisioned the rooms full of staff and patients talking, laughing and discussing general topics and dental health. Organic growth is the best and I hope my patients will help our office grow so we can help and treat even more amazing patients.
Q: IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO RELAY A MESSAGE TO THE WORLD, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
Be humble, be nice and just love each other. Don’t judge, leave the ego behind and learn to be more empathetic. We could all do so much better if we showed a little more compassion and empathy towards each other.
