RBG’s Kid Fest

Brave little people coiled up with Molly the Burmese Python at RBGs Kid Fest on Feb 1&2. Other kids were happy to just admire Molly and Daphne the corn snake, from a safe distance. The very white Texas Rat snake looked like she had been dipped in a vat of paint.

Parents and youngsters alike were delighted to meet and greet Curious George, Buddy the Dinosaur and Clifford, that Big Red Dog from PBS Kids.

In the bird kingdom section, kids were greeted with a ’hello’ from Ray, the talking green-winged macaw. Raymond seemed a perfect name until an unexpected egg appeared in her area. Now she’s Ray.

Macaws usually live to be 100 and can see colours in the ultraviolet spectrum. Ray is from the Bird Kingdom in Niagara Falls.

Other activities included face painting, a clown toss game, books, balloons, and all the things kids love to do. For those who worked up an appetite, there was a full menu offered in the Greenhouse Cafe.
