The Salvation Army Burlington Community Church hosted a fun evening of Square dancing on November 2nd at their location on Prospect. Hosted by Pastor Ron and Pastor Judi, this square dance event has always been organized by Lillie Utman. Lillie at 99 years young, watches from the sidelines as her daughter and granddaughter circle right and do si do with the crowd. This evening provides exercise for all, builds friendships, and helps to keep the mind focused and challenged.
The Caller, Jimmy Lee, makes it easy for even the newest of participants, with his step by step instructions. He keeps things fun.
After the dancing, refreshments and sweets are offered.
This church is a hub of community events. For example, Messy Church is offered monthly; a service which welcomes all, but particularly aimed at those who have not belonged to a church before. Other activities here include movie nights, vendor markets and Holiday events. Watch for “Noah and the flood” presenting on November 25th and check out other community activities on Salvation Army Burlington’s Facebook page.
