It was a ‘Thanksgiving to Remember’ as Canada Day was celebrated on Thanksgiving this year at Memorial Park in Port Credit as a Memorial Tribute for the loved ones we have lost during the pandemic.
Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, hundreds of spectators were dancing and singing along to the great live entertainment on the main stage which included tribute bands featuring the music of Billy Joel, Van Morrison, Tom Petty’s greatest hits and the music of the Tragically Hip performed by the amazing band ‘The Hip Experience’. Even former Mississauga Mayor, Hazel McCallion could be seen dancing on the lawn. Way to go Hazel!
The event also included food trucks and a Kids Zone featuring Singer’s Spotlight Karaoke and the magic of Ryan Brown. Kids got to pick out and paint pumpkins to take home.
To finish off the event, the crowds were treated to a brilliant fireworks display. A perfect ending to a memorable day. Let’s hope next year we can do it all over again on Canada Day!
