On January 1st, 2020, those brave enough to take the plunge, ran into Lake Ontario, at RK McMillan Park in Port Credit. Even pets were dipping their paws in the frigid waters.
The Brogue’s owner, Tommy Donnelly, inspired by a suggestion from his friend, David Emms decided to create their own polar bear dip as a fun way to give back to the community by raising money for charity.
This year’s repeat recipient is the Ian Anderson House, a residential cancer hospice that offers end-of-life palliative care. The cold temperatures lakeside were replaced quickly by the warmth of the Brogue Inn, where raffles and live auctions created lots of excitement to kick-off 2020. A great yearly tradition that was enjoyed by all.
