The 2019 GTA market has been slower to start this year. The first quarter showed lower levels of inventory across the GTA and it was only in April that TREB reported a 16.8% year-over-year increase in home sales. It’s important to note however that these numbers remain well-below April levels for much of the past decade, as buyers are still reassessing their options after the OSFI-mandated 2% point stress test on mortgages. The volume of sales between Jan 1st and May 31st in the Mimico area saw 403 condo sales averaging at $486,000 and 63 freehold sales averaging at $1,053,000.
